Social Value Statement

Aligned with PPN 06/20

1. Introduction

Ashfield Services is committed to delivering social value through all its contracts and operations, ensuring alignment with PPN 06/20 (Taking Account of Social Value in the Award of Central Government Contracts), extended for NHS England procurements. This reflects our responsibility to contribute positively to society while providing exceptional, compliant Health & Social Care training across the UK.

2. Our Approach to Social Value

Ashfield Services embeds social value through:

  • Structured Integration: Social value is considered at tender, planning, delivery, and evaluation stages of all services.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: We measure social value outcomes using clear KPIs aligned with the NHS Social Value Model, reporting transparently to stakeholders.

3. Priority Themes and Outcomes (as per NHS England guidance)

We align our contributions under the five key themes and policy outcomes in the Social Value Model:

a) COVID-19 Recovery

  • Supporting NHS workforce resilience by delivering high-quality training that aids staff upskilling, wellbeing, and safe practices post-pandemic.

  • Offering flexible online and in-person learning, reducing operational disruptions while supporting staff to return to work effectively.

b) Tackling Economic Inequality

  • Creating employment and skills opportunities through recruiting local tutors and providing work experience placements where possible.

  • Supporting SMEs and VCSEs in our supply chain, purchasing goods and services locally where feasible.

c) Fighting Climate Change

  • Operating a hybrid delivery model to reduce travel-related carbon emissions.

  • Utilising digital materials and e-certification to minimise paper waste.

  • Exploring the use of venues with sustainable practices for in-person training.

d) Equal Opportunity

  • Providing accessible learning, adapting materials for individuals with disabilities and those with additional learning needs.

  • Maintaining a diverse workforce, supporting inclusive recruitment and ongoing development.

e) Wellbeing

  • Embedding mental health awareness and resilience modules within our training delivery.

  • Supporting our employees’ wellbeing through flexible working, wellbeing check-ins, and clear safeguarding practices.

4. Measurement and Reporting

Ashfield Services can measure and report on:

  • Number of local individuals employed or upskilled through contracts.

  • Percentage reduction in travel through hybrid delivery.

  • Carbon emissions baseline and reductions.

  • Diversity metrics across our delivery team.

  • Employee and learner wellbeing feedback.

We can provide quarterly reports aligned with NHS England frameworks and tailor additional reporting to specific contract KPIs as required.

5. Commitment Statement

Ashfield Services fully supports the principles of PPN 06/20 and NHS England’s Social Value Model, integrating them where possible into every aspect of our delivery to ensure that we:

  • Support economic, social, and environmental well-being across communities we serve.

  • Contribute positively to local health systems.

  • Remain transparent and accountable in demonstrating our social value impact.
