AI, Collaboration and Training in Care: Sussex Care Showcase Highlights

Despite the rain, spirits were high at the Sussex Care Showcase yesterday, where Billy and Paula proudly represented Ashfield Services at Brighton Racecourse. The day was full of inspiring conversations, valuable learning, and opportunities to reconnect with others across the health and social care sector.

Highlights from the Day

Two attendees at the Sussex Care Showcase 2025 taking part in an Ashfield Services practical training demonstration on clinical procedures, highlighting hands-on training in care.

Meeting New Faces and Familiar Ones

Billy and Paula spent the day chatting with a fantastic mix of professionals, from care home managers and supported living providers to service organisations and partners we’ve collaborated with before. It was a brilliant reminder of how strong and connected our care community is, and exciting to build new relationships that could lead to future partnerships.

Insightful Sessions and Fresh Perspectives

The event was packed with thought-provoking talks on key topics in social care training and sector innovation.
Billy particularly enjoyed Kevin Humphrys’ session on how AI is transforming social care, while Paula found inspiration in discussions around improving service quality and better outcomes for service users. Both came away with fresh ideas to strengthen training in care and enhance our approach to workforce development.

Networking and Opportunities Ahead

Outside of the seminars the exhibition floor buzzed with conversation. It was a great chance to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore innovative solutions that others are implementing across the care sector. We left with new contacts, potential partners, and fresh ideas to integrate into our work at Ashfield.

What We’ll Be Bringing Back

  • Exploring training funding initiatives discussed at the event to see how we can make the most of them.

  • Integrating innovative ideas around care staff training, compliance, and service quality improvement.

  • Following up with new contacts to explore collaboration, research, and joint project opportunities.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A huge thank you to the organisers of the Sussex Care Showcase for such a well-run and engaging event. Bringing together so many passionate voices across the health and social care industry is no small task, and it was a pleasure to be part of it.

If you met Billy or Paula at the event and would like to continue the conversation, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s keep the collaboration going and continue raising standards through training in care.
