Pam Dalby
RGN ONC
Clinical and Quality Assurance Lead (North)
Pam began her nursing career in 1982 as a student nurse, qualifying as an RGN with an ONC in 1986. She started her post-registration journey on a trauma orthopaedic unit before discovering her passion for Neuro-Rehabilitation in 1989, a field that would go on to shape the core of her clinical career. Since then, she has taken on a variety of roles across primary and secondary care, research, and education, including two years in Australia as Associate Nurse Manager of a trauma unit.
Even in leadership roles, Pam’s passion for education remained central. As a ward manager, she consistently inspired her teams to reach their full potential. This passion led her to become a Clinical Placement Facilitator in the early 2000s, where she worked both strategically and operationally to bridge practice and academia.
In this role, she supported student nurses during placements and trained Registered Nurses to become mentors. She also led a Trust-wide project spanning 109 clinical areas, ensuring compliance with OQME standards in partnership with a major NHS Trust and university.
Now one of Ashfield’s Clinical and Quality Assurance Leads, Pam brings that same energy and commitment to every course she delivers. Her specialist areas include Acquired Brain Injury and complex care, and she collaborates with care providers to design tailored training on subjects such as Accountability and Delegation, Mentoring, Preceptorship, and leadership development.
